Book a driving test at Hither Green Driving Test CentreHither Green is one of the busiest test centres in the UK. In the last 5 years, the centre has conducted more than 3,000 tests per year and the average is set to keep rising, as the population in Lewisham and the surrounding boroughs continues to grow. Waiting times for an appointment at Hither Green Test Centre are normally around 2 - 3 months. Test slots are snapped up quickly, and if you’d like to book your driving test at Hither Green, we suggest arranging your test once you’re half-way through learning to drive.
Book a driving test in Hither Green by phoneYou can ring the DVSA on 0300 200 1122 if you’d like to book a driving test at Hither Green Test Centre over the phone. The phone line is available from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. The phone line is unavailable on weekends, but you can still use the DVSA’s website to book your test on a Saturday or Sunday. If you’re booking over the phone, you’ll need your provisional driving licence number and a credit or debit card to pay £62 to cover the cost of the test.

Most learner drivers prefer this method, and the website is available 7-days a week from 6am to 11:40pm. To book a driving test at Hither Green Driving Test Centre, go to https://www.gov.uk/book-driving-test and select the type of test you want to get started. When prompted, enter Hither Green Driving Test Centre as your preferred test centre and select the dates that suit you best. You will need your provisional driving licence number and a valid credit or debit card to complete the booking process. Once you have confirmed your driving test, you’ll receive an email from the DVSA, which will include the details of your test and a reference number. You’ll need the reference number if you want to change the date of your driving test. Note: Hither Green Test Centre only conducts car, and the ADI part 3 tests, the nearest car and trailer test site is in Enfield, North London.

- Walk north-west on Fernbrook Road
- Turn left towards Maythorne Cottages
- Turn right onto Maythorne Cottages
- Turn right onto Nightingale Grove
- Turn left onto Ennersdale Road
- Turn left and Hither Green Driving Test Centre will be on your right-hand side

Local roads in and around Hither GreenVehicles are able to park at the test centre and on the road leading onto Ennersdale Road, which all candidates pass through on their way to and from the test centre. Travel slowly on this road and look out for car doors opening and other candidates walking out from behind their vehicles. If you fail to slow down or stop when you spot another pedestrian, you could fail your driving test. Some Hither Green test routes will take you onto Lewisham High Street where there is currently a significant amount of road works going on. Some of the bus lanes in the area are not in use while road works are ongoing, so keep your eyes peeled to avoid getting caught out.
